Ilhan Ersahin and NUBLU – five albums to start off with

We gently crack the door open and peek inside the colourful world of sounds that belongs to Ilhan Ersahin and Nublu with two New York based projects, two Istanbul based projects and one Brazilian project.
Wax poetic – what has now become a classic formation, that completely unravels the musical canon (2000). Many of the people who are considered to be some of the most creative jazz musicians today have been there, such as Norah Jones, Bebel Gilberto, Craig Taborn, Jamie Saft, Arto Tuncboyaciyan amongst many more. Angels
Love trio (2004) – yet another New York project, that completely carries the energy and the sound of the city. When the trio consists of musicians such as Ilhan Ersahin, Kenny Wollesen and Jesse Murphy, it’s easy to make such a project come to life. Love Trio Featuring U-Roy
Istanbul Underground (2015) – the most cinematic album of the Istanbul foursome Istanbul Sessions, where together with Ersahin we have Alp Ersonmez on the bass, Turgut Alp Bekoglu оn drums and Izzet Kizil on percussions. From the moment they started putting it together and they had live shows at the Istanbul branch of Nublu, I thought to myself – this is like cinema. Now, four years later, I can with absolute certainty say this is cinema. The music writes images and stories. ILHAN ERSAHIN'S ISTANBUL SESSIONS - MCCOY
Wonderland The other side (2014) – one more Istanbul project with some extra members. Here Ersahin, Ersonmez and Kizil get help from Volkan Oktem on drums, and Husnu Senlendirici оn the clarinet. Some of the guest musicians include Jane Birkin and Gilberto Gil. Melancholic, with a vintage, jazzy, happy and sad feel, all at the same time. Ilhan Ersahin's Wonderland featuring Jane Birkin -Fathers and Daughters
Praia Futuro (2017) – the current Brazilian project of Ilhan Ersahin, which includes top Brazilian musicians Kalil on drums, Catatau on guitar and Dengue on the bass. The album carries the spirit of the 70’s and that of Brazilian beaches. PRAIA FUTURO
