On the road in July

Each year July is usually a festival month. This July, after a break of more than a year, the musical life returns to its course with live open-air concerts.

Today we offer several options for July trips, not to the sea, but to places where you can hear and see current contemporary music.

The Balkans are hosting several of their important jazz festivals this summer. Among them are the 25th edition of the Romanian Garana Jazz Festival and the 62nd edition of the Jazz Fest in Ljubljana. Throughout the month, the Slovenian capital offers the opportunity to attend concerts of world renowned musicians, which we present today.

The great pianist Tigran Hamasyan and his trio will present their latest album on July 2 in Ljubljana. The premiere of the new album of the American guitarist Julian Lage follows on July 20, followed on July 23 by Marc Ribot and his trio Ceramic Dog with their current project “Hope”. All concerts will be held outdoors, as well as the program of the jazz festival, which will take place from 28th to the 31st of July. Among the participants this year are names like Brian Marsella, John Medeski, Kenny Grochowkski, who will present new music by John Zorn. You can find the program of the festival here.

The 25th edition of the Garana Jazz Fest from July 7 to 11 also offers music from current projects by leading European and world musicians. Among them we find the names of Dhafer Youssef with his album "Sound of Mirrors", Nils Petter Molvær, Lars Danielsson

As every year, all concerts are held outdoors. The full program of the festival can be found here.

Let July be not only a sea, but also a music month!
