New additions at the end of October
At the end of October, we are looking with interest at our new additions in an attempt to extend the summer. This month, quite interesting projects with an emphasis on African and Eastern music appeared on digital platforms, and today we are happy to listen to some of them.
For starters, the latest project Brand New Shoes by Japanese trumpeter Takuya Kuroda, heavily influenced by the music of Ethiopia and Mulatu Astatke. A rhythm that will make us forget the cold weather.
We continue on the same wave with the German band WEB MAX and the song Meskel Flowers, together with Mulatu Astatke.
The mystical music of the Ghanaian-born master of percussion and in particular of djembe - Weedie Braimah follows. We listen to a piece from his latest album, recorded with trumpeter Christian Scott and pianist Cory Henry, known from Snarky Puppy's projects.
Finally comes the cosmic sound from Nottingham. In the latest project of the British Miles Newbold, who hides behind the name of the band The Natural Yogurt Band, the music of Africa meets the stars.
Meantime the cozy autumn evenings continue…
