New Arrivals – The Smile & Thom Yorke
This January Friday brings us a surprise. It is the mini-concert by Thom Yorke and his new band The Smile within the Tiny Desk format. We've been following Tiny Desk events for a long time, as they see guest musicians breaking familiar constraints - even due to limited space. Everything happens in a cozy and immediate way and has a homely feel. As a testament to this relaxed atmosphere, Thom Yorke comes with a new mini-live in the Tiny Desk studio. The band presents three tracks from their debut album A Light for Attracting Attention, released last year. The continuation of the philosophy in the music of an artist of Thom Yorke's stature is evident in the music of the band The Smile. Beautiful, deep, minimal, subtle and delivering exactly the line that has been missing lately - depth and subtlety.
We listen to the immersive collaborative playing of instruments and shared thought. Exceptional musicianship and an uncompromising attitude to music in pursuit of the perfect sound and message.
