A walk with a clarinet

Almost without looking for specific connections, and following the path of the clarinet back and forth in time and space, today's playlist seems to have curated itself. Cheerful and sad, new and old, sparkling and muted - the stories intertwine and somehow invisibly follow each other. Today we let the clarinet guide us through familiar and unfamiliar lands.
The beginning is for a solo from Mozart's "Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra”.
After it, a piece from a project by Woody Allen and his New Orleans jazz band sounds somewhat natural, which merges into the eternal play Annobon by Romano / Texier / Sclavis.
From there we move to the heart of Istanbul with the clarinet of Hüsnü Şenlendirici together with Ilhan Ersahin and company.
Balkan music also logically follows here, this time with a New York flavor - the band New York Gypsy All Stars and the clarinet of Ismail Limanovski, together with Jason Lindner on keyboards and Panagiotis Andreu on bass.
We end this Balkan part with music by the Istanbul Taksim Trio, followed by a piece by the late clarinet king Selim Sesler, whom we had the pleasure of listening to live. A virtuoso whose music has repeatedly voiced Fatih Akan's films.
And here we suddenly turn around and find ourselves live back in New Orleans with the band Tuba Skinny.
Step aside and we are on the streets of Barcelona with the music of the Barcelona Gipsy Klezmer Orchestra.
Following is a performance by one of the greatest virtuosos of our time - Shabaka Hutchings with solo clarinet.
We cannot miss the Bulgarian virtuoso with a world name Ivo Papazov - Ibryama, and after him, Angel Bath Dawid shows us more aspects of the clarinet today.
Then we listen to two great European virtuosos - Michel Portal, accompanied by the accordion of Richard Galliano.
In the finale, we turn back to New Orleans with the clarinet of Doreen Ketchens - the Clarinet Queen.
