About Madeleine Peyroux

Madeleine Peyroux’ magical album “Careless Love” will be reissued in August this year - this time in a double format with a concert recording from Spain years ago. This interesting fact drew our attention back, more than 15 years ago, when Madeleine Peyroux's album was released.
“Careless Love” (Rounder 2004) is an example of classic magic, finesse and style. According to the singer herself, the album appears as a kind of continuation of Peyroux' 1996 debut album "Dreamland" with covers of songs from the 30s and 40s of the 20th century. In the sequel, Peyroux includes songs by musicians from the class of Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan. Cohen's eternal ballad "Dance me to the end of love" opens a musical journey, followed by the author's composition "Don't wait too long" by Peyroux co-authored with another important name in contemporary jazz - that of Jesse Harris. The journey continues with songs by Bob Dylan, Hank Williams and others.
Critics ranked Peyroux’s voice and timbre next to names like Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald. We will not do it. We will just listen to this beautiful album again and again, as we have been doing for the last 15 years. An album that is with us regardless of the change of seasons and places we are. Whether by the fireplace or on a warm summer night, Madeleine Peyroux's music and voice caress the senses every time. And in August, to the delight of all fans of the singer, this project will be reissued and we can certainly say that it will increase the number of those fascinated by the magic and talent of Madeleine Peyroux.
Today we listen to the original project from 2004, which you will find on digital platforms.
