Adam Ben Ezra with a piano album

 

Among the new titles that appear this spring, our interest was attracted by an unusual project. Piano solo album by Israeli multi-instrumentalist and genius double bassist Adam Ben Ezra.

Years ago in Sarajevo we met and heard live the experimenter. He is defined as an extraordinary, non-standard, innovator. Here we give an example of what a double bass musician is capable of. 

 

Today, however, our theme is Adam Ben Ezra as a pianist and his solo album “Intermission".

As he himself describes his own project - the last year has dramatically changed his regime after a long time of constant travel and concerts. Staying at home, Adam decided to release one of his old ideas and write music for his first love - the piano. Thus, piece by piece, the album "Intermission" was born. It is an interesting fact that a kind of songbook is attached to the album - scores of the plays included in it.

The musical themes are the most diverse - from the opening Waltz, through the Latin theme in El Niño, typical jazz standards, but also folklore.

Interesting, but somehow all the time the sense of rhythm, which is leading in Adam Ben Ezra, does not leave us.

A lyrical, personal, warm album - this is "Intermission". You can hear it all on digital platforms, as well as on Adam Ben Ezra's YouTube channel. 

 

Finally, we quote the quirky address of the musician to his listeners: "For those who are wondering what is happening with my double bass - do not worry, I have not ignored it! It's just an "intermission" and I can't wait to tour again with my bass (as well as a few piano pieces in my pocket).
