Back to the 70’s

Recently, an interesting trend has been observed in music, which is in the field of view of DJs from independent radio stations. For the most part, they turn to the free and pulsating music of the 70's. This retro invasion is like a hiding place from the aggressive and fast-paced world. Trying to return the innocence and purity of those days; calm and serenity. Even more interesting is the fact that music connoisseurs choose treasures from the Mediterranean, Iran and the Middle East. Places that are in their heyday in those years. Long before greed and aggression erased the color, multicultural environment, depth and diversity of cities like Tehran and Beirut, Damascus and Jaffa. Cities full of people of all nationalities, with different roots and thus creating a unique sound in which stories, experiences, similarities and differences intertwine. Nowadays, there is a record label in Jaffa, Fortuna Records, which makes an effort to extract from the archives and dust off many examples of this trouble-free music fiesta. But they are not alone in their efforts.

Today, to illustrate what has been said, we listen to our nostalgic playlist, which sings in Hebrew and Farsi, in Turkish, Greek, French and Arabic. And the music takes us back and forth. In this so very Mediterranean psychedelic sound, which once heard, cannot be mistaken. Have a nice trip to the past.

The beginning is for the Iranians from Penahi Dance music.

We continue on the Persian wave with the singer Googoosh - Gol Bi Goldoon.

The Turkish superstar of the 70s, Barış Manço, is coming with a song in French.

Next is the Algerian star Mazouni.

We continue with Asmahan.

We come to the fathers of psychedelics in Turkey Mogollar.

There are Olympians from Greece.

We stay on the Greek wave, but with music revived by the boys from Fortuna Records.

We add a pinch of pepper to the next play and move to Yemen with The Amranim.

The finale is for Levitros, a Turkish-Greek band with an Israeli taste in the mid-1970s.
