In memory of Orlando Julius

A few days ago, another great contemporary musician left us. Nigerian saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist Orlando Julius is a name that will forever go down in history with his passion for music, curiosity for improvisation and his contribution to the promotion of afro-beat in recent decades.
The Nigerian-born musician began his journey in the colonial country, which lacks everything from everyday products to schools. But his passion takes him back and forth, starting with traditional percussion instruments and drums ranging all the way to the saxophone - his voice. He spent years in the United States working with names like Hugh Masekela and Herbie Hancock. Recognizable in recent years and one of his most cheerful projects - his collaboration with the group The Heliocentrics. We are left with the memory of his participation in the projects of the Turkish jazz band Ayyuka - in their great album SÖMESTR.
Today we recall several great plays by Orlando Julius over the years with the same excitement and optimism that his music brings each time.
