New titles

This week we listen to the newest additions to the Rarenoise Records catalogue. The London based label Rarenoise Records is one of the companies for independent contemporary music, giving its artists the platform to experiment and come out with music that reflects the current times.
Interesting collaborations between leading global artists can be seen on their catalogue. Some of the main names, recording under Rarenoise Records are our favourites Jamie Saft and Bobby Previte.

Today we take a look at the latest releases from the label.

To kick things off, a song from New Zion Trio with Cyro’s “Sunshine Seas Dub”. A remastered version of the album "Sunshine Seas" by Jamie Saft, Brad Jones and Craig Santiago accompanied by virtuoso percussionist Cyro Baptista. Information about that project can be found here, as well as hearing a piece from it.

Next we have an interesting project by Georgian pianist Giorgi Mikadze - with his debut album “Georgian Microjamz”. A project that brings together ancient Georgian music with contemporary jazz. It comes as no surprise that we see two big names accompanying Mikadze on this album - the Greek bass player Panagiotis Andreou from Now vs. Now, and one of the biggest guitar players of our time, David Fiuczynski, that we had the pleasure of seeing live together with John Zorn in Sarajevo.
To wrap things up we have Bobby Previte and Jamie Saft, together with guitarist Nels Cline with “Music From the Early 21st Century”. An album recorded live during their brief tour. A total improvisation and an attempt to reflect the contemporary world in their music, virtuosity, and incredible sense of depth and bravery - that is how we can sum that project up.
You can find some more interesting music from Rarenoise Records on their Soundcloud and on their online shop.
