Polar Bear - Held on the Tips of Fingers

Today for some good mood it is with great pleasure that we remember an album from 2005 - “Held on the Tips of Fingers” (Babil, 2005) by the British band Polar Bear.

The London band is well known to fans of contemporary experimental music from the last two decades. Other members of the band led by drummer Seb Rochford include Pete Wareham and Mark Lockheart on the saxophone, Tom Herbert on the bass, and Leafcutter John - on electronics and everything else.
From their long discography we chose the album “Held on the Tips of Fingers”. This record, with its melodic sound and feeling for drama and humour, sudden turns and unimaginable combinations, is also present in the list of the 100 albums that have changed the direction of jazz by respected British publication Jazzwise.

Тhe album, listened to in current times, immediately brings attention to the innovative approach of the band, which years later will become a trademark of the contemporary music scene with musician like Shabaka Hutchings.

Today we go back to 2005 and we listen to Polar Bear via their YouTube channel.

Their music can be found on all digital platforms.
