Silver – a gift

We continue the year with an incredible gift from some unbelievable musicians – Silver, Ilhan Ersahin’s latest project with Kenny Wollesen on drums, Eddie Henderson on trumpet and Juini Booth on bass(Nublu records 2019). A project that we have been waiting for almost five years but listening to the music now – it was totally worth the wait! When four years ago Silver Mood came around, we all said to each other – Oh, this is worth it. It was worth waiting for, no doubt. In this world, filled with old ideas and verses, they offer a very minimalistic album. At the same time very deep and pure as an idea. To add, played out by virtuosos and people with a very, very big affinity for the musical language. That’s how a meditation comes together, one that you would not want to leave. That you will listen to in summer and winter time. Under the starry summer sky or the falling snow. From blossoming spring flowers to a walk in the autumn woods. A poem, written with music. A journey through the world, as it is today – one foot in the past and one in the future.
Silver comes out shortly after Solar Plexus – a cosmic odyssey. From one journey on to the next one.
Here I’ll add a personal realization – Ilhan Ersahin‘s music is music for travellers – both spiritual and physical. He himself hasn’t stopped going around the globe and that heavily influences his ideas. Here, in stark contrast to his previous project, we listen to the music on earth, showcased by four incredible musicians. His accomplices in Nublu, all existing on the same frequency. Minimalism and depth. Clean ideas and a new approach.
I borrow the last sentence from the annotation of the project – it’s like tasting musical wine. Welcome to the tasting!
Enjoy listening and traveling with the title track Silver Mood!
