Snarky Puppy in Athens - Canceled
On April 7th and 8th this year Athens’ Gazarte club welcomes Snarky Puppy in full form, together with Banda Magda, the band of America based Greek performer, director, screenwriter, musician - and with one word - artist: Magda Giannikou.
Why are we paying attention to this event? Because usually Snarky Puppy - old favourites of ours - fill out stadiums, but it is very rare that we get to hear them in a club setting. The second reason is the involvement of Banda Magda - a band full of life and light, that according to Magda Giannikou gives the world the light that is missing from our days.
The collaboration between Giannikou and her band (mostly members of Snarky Puppy) has lasted for more than ten years. She is a member of the big Snarky Puppy family and also a member of the independent music society and label GroundUp music.
Magda Giannikou’s point of view towards music is very cinematographic, which further completes the whole picture. Each song of video is a short movie. Positive and not without a sense of humour.
On April 7th and 8th, all these musicians will blow up Gazarte like only they can. And our experience with big club spaces will for sure make us be there for one of the two dates.
One perfect reason for a short escape to Athens, and recharging with colour and joy.
