Summer night music

Since it is still summer and we all spend out nights out on our balconies, verandas, gardens, beaches and boats, today we share the music that we have been listening to in the warm summer evenings and nights, whilst we enjoy the late summer garden, full of colour, and at the same time saying, that the time for more laid back things is running out and preparing for the new season. The night garden and the night deck are two magical places, where you can become one with the world. Sometimes I just listen to the cicadas during the day, and their northern brothers, the crickets, on other evenings. You never know if you are going to pass a man with a horse that has decided to go for a walk with his horse in the sea. Or you would meet a hedgehog, looking for dinner, and sharing food from a plate with one of the many garden cats. And if you are on water, you have no idea who you might be meeting, once you dock your boat. But there is a magical hour – an hour, when you become one with your surroundings, time stops, and everything goes in its right place. For those exact moments, we listen to a couple of piano pieces – new and old, that pacify us, no matter where we physically are, they just bring us in one.

First we kick things off with Tomasz Stańko’s incredible trumpet, Marcin Wasilewski‘s piano and his trio. Moreover, the difference between these two musicians is around 35 years. What a common thought!

Suspended Night

We move on with the trio of Leszek Możdżer, Lars Danielsson and Zohar Fresco with the lyrical Polska

After that, we continue with our favourite Jamie Saft and Between Two Worlds.

Followed by Tigran Hamasyan’s love letter to Paris…Leaving Paris.

To finish things off we have the eternal Dave Brubeck with Take Five.

… In the meantime, there is a flower blooming, or a boat docking or taking sale, or someone coming out with new and great music…life goes on.
