Snarky Puppy in Athens - Canceled

Two reasons if you are in Athens on 7th and 8th of April to visit Gazarte. Snarky Puppy - old favourites of ours - fill out stadiums, but it is very rare that we get to hear them in a club setting. The second reason is the involvement of Banda Magda - a band full of life and light, that according to America based Greek performer, director, screenwriter, musician - and with one word - artist Magda Giannikou gives the world the light that is missing from our days.

An evening in Berlin

"Cathedrals of Culture" by Wim Wenders starts off with a bit about the Berlin Philharmonic as one of the places in the world that are way ahead of their time, form taste, and become the source of new things. Today we head to the Berlin Philharmonic and the new direction it has taken under Kirill Petrenko.

Myriam Alter

Myriam Alter is one of the few female composers in jazz. Today we listen to a couple of pieces from three different albums by Myriam Alter featuring world renowned virtuosos, and we enjoy her cozy, melancholic world. A world, made up of a lot of small pieces from all parts of the globe.

John Zorn’s Dreamers – O’o

They say the only thing better than listening to the album O'o by John Zorn's Dreamers is listening to it live. Today we have a couple of songs from O’o, one of which is a live performance of the now classic “Little Bittern” from Marciac in 2010. We envy everyone that will get to experience this magic for the first time.

Music from the Lale Plak shop

Lale Plak first opened its doors in 1954. It was an institution that closed its doors last year. The past 15 years have been full of meetings with people from Lale Plak. We exchanged ideas, we learned, we got to know the new things. At each event we would meet we would discuss musical news. We learned a lot. We met a lot of soul mates.

A boat story

There is something particularly charming about the Greek public transport by sea. The long journey on a boat, making stops at different islands before reaching your final destination, always brings surprises and interesting travel companions. Today we talk about our favourite ferry line that connects the Dodecanese Islands with Rhodes as a starting point.
