Klezmerson
Going through old pictures from Sarajevo reminded us of our meeting with Klezmerson during the 22nd Sarajevo Jazz Fest. That is why today we listen to an unqualified type of music, where Balkan and gypsy rhythms are mixed with Klezmer - Jewish traditional music. All that is seen through the Mexican point of view of Benjamin Shwartz and his band Klezmerson.
Rena Morfi
Rena Morfi’s albums possess a certain finesse and a feeling of proportionality, with no pretenses, which makes the music very easy to comprehend. The truth is that behind every choice of song, there are deep roots. Today we listen to the new album ΣΑΜΠΑ ΤΣΙΚΙΤΑ.
MA playlist
True to the principle that everything is connected and music is a globe, we have put together an eclectic playlist. But apart from being eclectic, the playlist can be distinguished by one other thing. With a couple of small exceptions, the performers that we have included, are people that we have seen live in small and big rooms, clubs, festivals.
New titles
The London based label Rarenoise Records is one of the companies for independent contemporary music, giving its artists the platform to experiment and come out with music that reflects the current times. Today we take a look at the latest releases from the label.
Optimism
While we spend more time at home, we have the chance to catch up on tasks we had no time to do. To read new and interesting books. To listen to a lot of new music. To learn new things.
Myriam Alter
Myriam Alter is one of the few female composers in jazz. Today we listen to a couple of pieces from three different albums by Myriam Alter featuring world renowned virtuosos, and we enjoy her cozy, melancholic world. A world, made up of a lot of small pieces from all parts of the globe.
