Joseph Tawadros far from vanity

Today we dip into this calm, lyrical, and wise place with a couple of pieces, that Joseph Tawadros created for his latest album. This is how the world would look at a lonely coast with massive stars in the sky, in a summer forest – once again with massive stars, in a freshly morning colour or flight. Innocent. Perfect. Words are unnecessary here.

MMW  feat. Scofield Juice

Today we talk about a very favourite album of ours – Juice by Medeski, Martin and Wood feat. Scofield. It will not be a lie to say that this is one of the most listened to albums by us in the past couple of years. However, we always find something new. It always brings us up on our feet and always reminds us – life goes on.

Hiromi Spectrum

Hiromi’s latest album Spectrum (Telarc 2019) came as a reflection of the storm happening within our souls. Like a spectrum, a rainbow full of colours that range between black and white. Joy and warmth for red and orange, positivity for yellow, life for green, melancholy and wisdom for blue and purple, to the sorrow and the suffering of black.

Banquet of the Spirits

There are very few people in the contemporary world, that tell a story with music – no, they do not take you into their world of depression or joy, they don’t take you through their break up or sorrow. They just tell a story. With Cyro Baptista, the magic is alive. Magic is like air, full of positive bubbles.

Free or about Iggy Pop

Iggy Pop’s latest album that came out on September 6th on Caroline International and Loma Vista Recordings, and the single James Bond, provoke thoughts on the Iggy Pop of today – somewhere between punk and jazz, through the album with Jamie Saft, James Bond, the album Free, to his programme on BBC Radio 6 – Iggy Confidential.

Brazil in Vira Loucos by Cyro Baptista

Today we listen to an album recorded more than 20 years ago – our favourite magician on the percussions Cyro Baptista plays music composed and inspired by the work of the big Brazilian classical composer Heitor Villa-Lobos. It is no coincidence that the name of the album translates to “To go mad”. An album that shows how music can be turned inside out in the most creative way. It also shows how strong Cyro Baptista’s energy is – something we have gotten to witness for ourselves live a couple of times.
