Welcome to the Club
A Baltic-flavoured mystery. Music, clean and poetic like an old Marc Zaharov movie, full of magic, where the world is four dimensional. This is the second album of Igor Timofeev, Oleg Shar and Oleg Belov or WTTC.
New York Winter Jazzfest 2020
In the midst of the winter season we are happy about the programme of the New York Winter Jazzfest, and we are listening to the new material all the participants have to offer. Each January, likeminded people gather in New York and share music and ideas, and inspire and charge each other. The festival is an image of the contemporary scene — alive and rebellious, full of new and different ideas.
2020 - Welcome!
MA is going into the new 2020 with the ambition of offering you many musical journeys. And because we are firm believers that everything keeps changing, that art doesn’t tolerate repetitiveness and clichés for too long — like a winter sea, generating power outside the season — power for a new life. That is why during 2020 we will keep bringing to you the new, the different, and the creative. Happy New Year!
The new music of 2019
We send off the complicated 2019 and take a look back. During the long holiday days and evenings, we will only be listening to music that came out this year. A year, during which certain processes took full speed and the new music, came to light. A year, during which three of the projects we wrote about have received a Grammy nomination; a year, during which the new wave is a fact.
And so it begins, 2019 through our eyes and ears...
Kokoroko
The star of Kokoroko rose suddenly with the release of We Out Here, where the London DJ and producer Gilles Peterson decided to compile new music with a focus on Africa. We Out Here comes to an end with the single Abusey Junction. From then until today - just for this one year the single has gained over 34 Million times on YouTube.
Faces of Shabaka Hutchings
Today we talk about an English man from Barbados, a tall dark figure, the carrier of change in not just the London, but also the global jazz scene. This is not the first time an artist decided he had different things to say via different bands. And we like this format. Because that is when the different faces of music appear.
